What Philosophers Say about Morality:
Aristotle- In terms of ethics, Aristotle based his views of morality on the concepts of virtue and his idea that man is a social and rational animal by nature. The act of being virtuous entails controlling one's feelings and acting rationally, which in turn enables us to become "fully" human.
Utilitarians- The ethical theories of the Utilitarians are a contrast to Immanuel Kant. This belief maintains that moral rules are derived from a rule of "thumb", in order to achieve the greater good for the greatest number of people. The interests of each individual in correlation with the interests of everyone as a whole is reconcilable in terms of morality.
Nietzsche-The existential theories are more radical and contend that individuals are able to choose their own moralities. This choice cannot be justified in any other aspect as defended by other modern philosophers.Nietzsche respectably encompasses the moralities of ancient Greeks, and favors utilizing their guidance in terms or morality.
